Volvo Cars engineers have designed the model to get a recharge in two fundamental ways: external charging and regenerative braking. There are three levels of charging when plugged in. Level 1 charging is ideal for topping off a few miles at home or a friend's house occasionally due to its slow nature. 2025 Volvo EX40
As with the Volvo EC40, the Volvo EX40 is another compact SUV EV that springs forth from a previous model's retirement: the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
